Privacy Policy
Weekend uses a narrow, product-first privacy model.
This policy explains what information Weekend handles, why it is used, who may receive it, and what happens when you delete your account. Weekend is currently available only to users 18 and older.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Weekend mobile app, Weekend-hosted web pages, and related support communications.
Weekend is currently intended for users in the United States who are 18 years of age or older.
2. Information you provide directly
Account and sign-in information, such as your email address and login credentials, or identity details provided through Sign in with Apple or Google sign-in
Profile details such as display name, username, avatar, bio, and optional social handles
Content you create in the app, including events, invite flows, comments, replies, reactions, and other plan-related activity
Photos you upload for your profile or event covers
Messages you send to Weekend support
3. Information from your device and app usage
If you enable notifications, Weekend stores the push token for that device plus basic app and device metadata needed to deliver and troubleshoot notifications
Event hosts can attach venue names, addresses, and event coordinates to plans they create, and Weekend stores that event location data as part of the event record
If you grant location permission, Weekend reads your current or last-known device location to show nearby plans and distance context. In the current app release, this live viewer location is used locally on your device and is not treated as a persistent profile field.
When you search for a place while creating or editing an event, the search terms and selected place details are sent through Weekend infrastructure to Google Places to return venue results
4. How Weekend uses information
To create and secure accounts, authenticate users, and keep the app working
To display profiles, friend connections, plans, invites, notes, and other social activity inside Weekend
To send notifications you choose to receive
To power place lookup, map context, and nearby event experiences
To respond to support requests, investigate abuse, enforce our rules, and protect the service
5. How information is shared
Weekend shares information only as needed to operate the service, show your activity to the people you choose to share with, comply with law, or protect users and the service.
Weekend does not sell your personal information.
With other Weekend users, according to the event visibility, membership, friendship, and profile features you use
With service providers that help operate Weekend, such as Supabase for backend infrastructure, Expo for notifications, Apple and Google for authentication, and Google Places for venue search
If required by law or reasonably necessary to enforce terms, detect abuse, address safety issues, or protect Weekend, its users, or the public
In connection with a reorganization, financing, acquisition, or sale of all or part of Weekend, subject to this policy or a successor policy
6. Retention and deletion
Weekend keeps account and content data for as long as your account remains active and as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, investigate abuse, and meet legal obligations.
When you delete your account in-app, Weekend begins removing your profile, hosted events, memberships, invitations, uploads, and most note activity. Limited records may remain for a short period in backups, security logs, or technical records. If other people replied to a note you created, a minimal "Note deleted" placeholder may remain in that thread after deletion.
7. Your choices
You can edit profile details from your profile area
You can turn notifications off in device settings
You can deny location, photo-library, and camera permissions, though some features may then be limited
You can delete your account from the app without contacting support
You can email theweekendapp.support@gmail.com for privacy questions, support requests, or safety concerns
8. Children and age limits
Weekend is a general social planning app, but we currently limit accounts to users 18 and older and do not design the service for children.
We do not knowingly permit users under 18 to use Weekend. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we may suspend or delete that account and related data. If you believe someone under 18 is using Weekend, email theweekendapp.support@gmail.com.
9. Changes and contact
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date, post the revised policy, or provide additional notice when appropriate.
Weekend is operated by the publisher listed on the App Store for Weekend.
Privacy questions, support requests, and safety concerns can be sent to theweekendapp.support@gmail.com.
